I Have had issues for years and have made my family suffer through a lot. It was my wife who contacted ACOPG and began my road back to recovery. At times it is hard not to think about those days but I remind my self that after all the money, arguing and seeking I don't want to put my family through this again and I remember my recovery program and it helps me get on the right path. I will always be a compulsive gambler but I have learned and have broken my cycle of addiction. Thanks ACOPG

I am Abbie, and I want to thank the Alabama Counsel as it helped me see a therapist free. I had gambled away all my money and had no money to pay for help. I began gambling 6 years ago on business trips with coworkers. I later started making once a month trips to casinos, then every weekend. When I was unable to pay my rent and pawned my car is when I got my wake-up call. I heard about Dr. Peloquin, contacted him and was referred to a therapist. I will never step into a place of gambling again.

My father began coming in very late from work, staying gone weekends, and we were told he was working overtime. When we started getting our power cut off, water, etc., we finally got my father to admit he was gambling. My aunt knew about ACOPG. We convinced my dad to contact them. I had an addiction to gambling 2 years ago. It became all I wanted to do. I lied, used bill money, and eventually stole money from family members to gamble. When I hit bottom was when my family confronted me and threatened to take my children. I contacted ACOPG, and I was referred to a therapist with no charge. I have not seen a casino or been in a place of gambling now in 2 years.

First I want to thank ACOPG for all that they have done. My problem started many years ago as a student at school playing cards which got me into gambling hard. I used all the money I had to the point I was writing bad checks. ACOPG not only got me a therapist but also help with my legal issues that got me headed in the right direction and my family is thankful to have me back. I was at the lowest point in my live. My wife and children had left me, I lost my house, car and job from gambling. I was always thinking I would just win it all back and everything would be fine, but it did not work out that way.
